The neo-conservatives ran the electoral campaign of the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney. They then denied having supported him and expected to access power discretely just like they did during both terms of the senile Ronald Reagan and the stupid and ignorant George Bush. However, Romney lost the race and the USA and the world dodged another political and economic disaster. Before I proceed any further, I would like to hold President Barack Obama responsible for their comeback to the political scene and for the fact that they are threatening America’s future once again. When Obama won the 2008 elections, he announced that he will be looking ahead and not behind. This practically means that the war criminals – who are indicted through a thousand different proofs – have evaded punishment after they conspired and falsified evidence about the nuclear program in Iraq and its connection to Al-Qaeda. This led to the killing of a million Arabs and Muslims along with 5,000 Americans and thousands of troops belonging to the international alliance. Al-Qaeda killed 3,000 Americans and war is still raging against it, as it should. However, those who killed 5,000 Americans are left alone to work in some radical research centers. Following the American project of the century – whereby Bill Clinton demanded a war against Iraq and then succeeded in obtaining that with George Bush after the 9/11 terrorist attacks – the American Likud supporters, who have the Israeli interests at heart over the American interests, started to meet in the Foreign Politics Institute. Thus, we started to read names like Eric Edelman, William Kristol, Robert Kagan, and Dan Senor among the directors of the institute. All these people had called for a war against Iraq and they had all taken part in promoting this war and providing falsified premises. Max Boot and Michael Doran exposed in the New York Times five reasons to interfere in Syria. Elliott Abrams wrote in the Wall Street Journal that the time has come to use power against Iran. Dan Senor said on CBC that America is weak because Obama failed to topple Bashar al-Assad. Some described Romney as being America’s Netanyahu since both speak about red lines and deadlines; and also about an existential or fateful threat represented by Iran although no one believes that. An opinion poll showed that 70 percent of the Americans oppose an American war against Iran and that 59 percent oppose supporting Israel in case it stages an attack on Iran. The McClatchy media group said that Netanyahu received donations from 47 persons during his electoral campaign, only one of which was Israeli. The group added that there were 42 American donors, only 28 of which offered donations to Romney’s campaign. The Valik family in Florida not only made donations to Romney and Netanyahu, but also to the settlers. We dodged a bullet. I am basing this piece of mine on American sources and I have all the relevant documents and references for those who would like to see them. Maureen Dowd wrote the best piece about the threat of the return of the neo-conservatives in the New York Times. She said they were snakes and she mocked the words of the vice president candidate, Paul Ryan, who spoke about killing of brave oppositionists in Syria; and the chaotic attacks against American embassies and consulates; and Iran obtaining a nuclear bomb within four years; and the fact that we neglected Israel, “our best ally” in the region. Dowd said that these words were uttered by Ryan but they really came from Dan Senor, who used to be the spokesperson for the alliance with Paul Bremer in Iraq, when the army was dismantled and the Baath party was toppled, and when ministries and museums were looted and crime gangs erupted and Iraq was destroyed. Senor described the situation in Baghdad by saying: “Well, off the record, Paris is burning. But on the record, security and stability are returning to Iraq.” The radicals surrounding Romney still have their hands soaked with the blood of the Arabs and Muslims. Instead of standing trial in the American military courts or the international war courts, they were left free and tried to return with another American president and proceed with Israel’s plan to control the Middle East. However, they fell with Mitt Romney and we hope that their fall is non-reversible. -- The views expressed by the author do not necessarily represent or reflect the editorial policy of Arabstoday.
