Warren Gatland will coach the British and Irish Lions for the three-Test series against world champions New Zealand next year, it was announced Wednesday.
The 52-year-old Wales coach -- who guided the Lions to a 2-1 series win over Australia in 2013 -- faces a monumental task in overcoming his fellow New Zealanders as the Lions have won just one series in New Zealand, back in 1971.
"Coaching the Lions is a great privilege. The 2013 tour was a real career highlight for me and I'm honoured to be offered the role again," Gatland said.
