Bahrain One racing team, which is owned by Personal Representative of His Majesty the King Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has clinched the first place in one of the stages of NHRA 2017 race, currently held in Las Vegas. The victory is considered as a new achievement for the team which is representing Bahrain in the presence of Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
International racer Steve Jackson, from the USA, who drives Bahrain One car, won on Sunday the first place in one of the stages of the international championship NHRA 2017 and third place internationally in the public NHRA Drag Racing Championship.
Shaikh Abdullah bstressed that the royal directives and support of HM the King were behind Bahrain’s honourable achievements in this sport. They also served as an incentive for the team to show their high level and project Bahrain in these sport arenas.
Shaikh Abdullah congratulated Bahrain One team on the new and outstanding accomplishment in the race which enjoys a great popular reputation among the fans of this sport in Bahrain and around the world. He stressed that there was a tough competition between the racers in the international championship, pointing out that Bahrain One team’s achievement was the dividend of continuous preparation by the drivers and technicians.
Shaikh Abdullah thanked Bahrain One team, including mainly the international drivers Steve Jackson from the USA and Khalid Al Balushi from the UAE. He also thanked Bahrain’s technical crew for their tremendous efforts to boost Bahrain’s standing in this sport which is popular in Bahrain and across the world. He said Bahrain One team participated in 11 championships in the USA and achieved a well-deserved victory by clinching first place in two championships, second place four times and third place two times. He also revealed that the team won first place in Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship and Pro Mod category in the 2016 Arabian Pro Series.
Shaikh Abdullah pointed out that Bahrain One team has drag racing cars capable of competing and clinching leading places in the USA, stressing that the victory and the positive results embody an ambition to win and stand out in motor sport at the Arab and international level.
