Essa Kazim, Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), today received Ann-Sophie Kisling, Chair of the Middle East/Gulf Working Group of the European Union Council, and a high-profile delegation comprising representatives from 22 member states of the European Union.
In meetings with senior officials of financial entities operating within the Centre, the EU Council members were offered an overview of the UAE’s financial services industry and DIFC’s value proposition as the financial and business gateway between the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. DIFC’s key role in contributing to the UAE’s diversification strategy was also highlighted.
Essa Kazim, Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre, said, "Europe continues to be a significant market for the DIFC, with 33 per cent of active financial firms based in the Centre originating from the continent. In line with our 2024 Strategy, we are continuously enhancing DIFC’s infrastructure, supported by our internationally recognised regulatory and legal framework, to create an environment that allows these companies to expand their business activities in the region."
