Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, has re-affirmed the strong partnership between Jordan and UN organisations operating in the Kingdom, as well as Jordan's keenness to boost relations in various fields.
During a meeting with representatives of UN agencies and offices in Jordan on Wednesday, Safadi called for enhancing cooperation and coordination with the UN with the aim of responding to the Syrian crisis and addressing its impact on Jordan, the Petra News Agency has reported.
The meeting touched on activities and projects of the UN on empowering the youth, achieving sustainable development, and fighting extremism.
Safadi voiced Jordan's appreciation of the development and humanitarian aid provided by the UN, highlighting the importance of the humanitarian role played by Jordan towards the Syrian refugees. He urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility in this regard and provide support to Jordan and host communities of the refugees.
