The seven-time Grammy-winning band Coldplay will perform in Abu Dhabi for a New Year Eve’s concert on 31 December at the Du Arena, Yas Island.
It was announced on their website that "tickets will go on general sale on 30 November."
This is the third Coldplay performance in Abu Dhabi, the last time being also on New Year’s Eve in 2011, and once before in 2009.
The concert is as part of their A Head Full of Dreams tour, following the release of their seventh studio album with the same name in late 2015.
The album includes hits such as Up and Up, and Hymn for the Weekend, that features Beyonce, and Adventure of a Lifetime.
The band was formed in 1996 by lead vocalist and keyboardist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland.
Some of Coldplay’s hits between 2000 and the present include A Sky Full of Stars, Paradise, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, Fix You, and Yellow, which preceded their first album ‘Parachites.’
Coldplay had won over 60 awards and were nominated over 200 times throughout their career, including nine Brit Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards
