Syrian actress Kinda Aloush said that she apologized for not participating in a new drama show, saying that she received an offer to participate in a new drama work scheduled to be presented during the coming season of Ramadan, while she decided not to participate in it. She added that she currently considers a new offer.
She expressed her pleasure for participating in Cairo Film Festival as a member of refereeing committee, saying that it is the first time for her to participate in the festival. She described the festival as one of the most important and prestigious cinema events not only in the Arab world but also in the whole world.
She added that she participated as a member of refereeing committee upon the request of the festival’s Chairwoman Magda Wasef, saying that she accepted, as she participated before in the Arab competition of the festival years ago. She stressed that she has the experience to assess the cinema works presented during the festival.
She praised her participation with a large number of superstars in the committee, including Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy, high-profile director Khairy Beshara and Palestinian director Hany Abu Assad.
She said that her new film “Very Confidential” will be a surprise for the fans, saying that it discusses a large number of issues that extremely affected Egypt’s history. She added that the film will witness the participation of a large number of Egyptian superstars, including Ahmed Al Sakka and Mohamed Ramadan, saying that it will be different and unique film.
She stressed that the Egyptian cinema witnessed increasing pressure during the latest years due to the revolution and political conditions since 2011, while she stressed that it has been strongly improved after political developments witnessed in the country since 2013.
She added that the film discusses the period between Egypt’s January 25 Revolution and June 30 Revolution, saying that she participated in June 30 Revolution which saved Egypt from the rule of Muslim Brotherhood. She added that she considers herself Egyptian, as she lives in the country six years ago.
