Iraq is grateful for the opening of a new school in Irbil as part of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society's (KRCS) "Kuwait is by your side" campaign, said Iraqi Minister of Education Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Al-Saidali Friday.
Speaking to KUNA, the minister lauded KRCS for its ongoing efforts to aid Iraqis on all possible levels, saying that this was reflective of Kuwait's generous gestures towards the people of Irbil.
On his part, Governor of Irbil Nawzad Hadi also took the chance to thank Kuwait for funding the construction of the school for the displaced, saying that the school, given the name Kathma, will stand as a structure displaying Kuwaitis' sincere wishes for the development of Iraq within the educational domain.
Meanwhile, Kuwait General Console in Irbil, Dr. Omar Al-Kanderi said that the Kathma School was the third institute funded by the KRCS.
More of facilities of such kind will be opened soon, said the diplomat, affirming that the society's efforts was in line with the Kuwaiti leadership and people's efforts to ease the pain of Iraqi displaced.
