Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, The Prime Minister, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) and DePaul University (USA) celebrated the graduation of their 11th Master’s programmes Cohort.
One Hundred students graduated at the ceremony that took place on Tuesday, in the presence of the DePaul University delegation led by the Director of the Driehaus Centre for International Business at DePaul University & Associate Professor Dr. Zafar Iqbal, The BIBF management and faculty, and friends and families of the graduates.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa deputized Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Al-Maraj to attend the graduation ceremony at the ART Rotana Hotel, Amwaj Islands.
In a statement on this occasion, Al-Maraj stressed the crucial importance of promoting human competencies in all business sectors, being the cornerstone of economic development and its driving engine in the Kingdom. In addition, he emphasised the importance of pursuing further education to enhance Bahrain’s economic growth and contribute towards the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030.
The BIBF’s Deputy Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh noted that the post-graduate degrees offered by the BIBF in partnership with DePaul University, equips the local and regional business sectors with a highly skilled, qualified workforce.
“DePaul University has been providing excellence in business education for over a century. Their programmes are highly respected and well established worldwide. The BIBF has strategically collaborated with DePaul University for over 17 years and is an accredited international learning centre, offering a variety of different Masters Programmes. The BIBF-DePaul University is also approved by the Higher Education Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain”, he added.
Dr. Ahmed also added, “The BIBF-run academic programmes in cooperation with the prestigious US DePaul University reflect the importance of education as an essential priority to boost economic development in Bahrain”, he said. He paid tribute to HRH the Premier for his kind patronage, which reflects the keenness of the wise leadership on the crucial role of the institute in honing qualified human resources to meet the needs of the developing labour market.
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the graduates on their achievement and wish them best of luck in their careers, hoping to see their contributions to the national economy and the Kingdom’s bright future.
