A poster of the Dubai-filmed “Kung Fu Yoga” was launched showcasing the emirate’s iconic skyscrapers, days after the Jackie Chan-starrer film’s release date was announced.
Releasing on Jan. 28 next year, ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ is a Sino-Indian project, part of the three-film agreement signed between the two countries during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India.
It was earlier reported that the entire cast and crew of “Kung Fu Yoga” recently traveled to Dubai to film several pivotal scenes. The filming concluded on Oct. 30 and was expected to continue in Beijing and India at some point in December.
“We are greatly looking forward to filming parts of ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ in Dubai, and the locations we have selected perfectly complement the scenes we are shooting here,” director Stanley Tong had said in a statement obtained by Variety. “Dubai’s iconic skyscrapers and attractions are recognized around the world, and we are excited to work closely with Dubai Film and TV Commission to ensure an enjoyable and successful filming time in Dubai.”
The film also stars Indian actors Amyra Dastur, Disha Patani and Sonu Sood. It is reported that the Hindi film stars have performed some adrenalin-pumping action sequences and even a Bollywood number, choreographed by Farah Khan, for the movie.
