Under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the 19th National Career Exhibition will be held from 15 – 17 February 2017.
This announcement came during a press conference held Today (Monday) by Expo Centre Sharjah in the presence of HE Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadem, Member of the Executive Council of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources “SDHR”; HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah and Chairman of UFI’s MEA Chapter; and Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies “EIBFS”.
The National Career Exhibition 2017 is organized in collaboration with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry and “EIBFS”. The UAE Armed Forces is supporting this event as the platinum sponsor, while Sharjah Islamic Bank is the gold sponsor with support from “SDHR”.
The exhibition will witness the participation of more than 70 ministries, governmental and non-governmental entities, as well as companies from all economic sectors, especially banking, insurance and exchange. Al Nabooda, and Sharjah Book Authority join the exhibition for the first time with the aim of encouraging Emiratization in the private sector.
During his speech, HE Dr. Khadem highlighted unhindered efforts by the government of Sharjah, to constantly launch beneficial initiatives to develop human resources and contribute to the development of national cadres.
He pointed out that the Directorate of Human Resources works tirelessly to develop the concept of employment by adopting modern systems, in order to secure suitable job opportunities for UAE nationals in all sectors, such as banking, tourism etc.
Furthermore, HE Dr. Khadem announced that the Directorate will launch a significant initiative -during the exhibition- to provide free consultation hours in the arts of "etiquette", appearance, style, interview techniques, labor law, and performance evaluation. The initiative aims to help job seekers throughout days of the exhibition.
For his part, HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa emphasized that the National Career Exhibition has become one of the UAE’s major and most successful employment events. This importance is underlined by the great attention it attracts from public and private institutions, as well as the Emirati youth looking for job opportunities that suit their skills and capabilities.
“Exemplary and highly dynamic with continuous growth indicators, the UAE job market is striving to achieve the UAE Vision 2021 which aims at making the UAE one of the top countries in the world by the Union’s Golden Jubilee.
All in all, the National Career Exhibition embodies the UAE’s vision by gathering all parties that share the same destiny and aspirations,” added Al Midfa. “This will allow the UAE to reach the highest levels of prosperity and build a competitive, knowledge-based economy that has an active, balanced effect on the global arena.”
In his speech, HE Jamal Ahmad Al Jasmi said that the exhibition represents a monumental opportunity to support Emiratization and the involvement of local talents in the workforce.
“The 19th National Career Exhibition 2017 in the Banking, Finance, and Government Sectors saw exceptional success this year, with the participation of 22 banks, 10 insurance companies, 2 exchange companies, and 30 government agencies,” Al Jasmi added, commending the great collaboration among organizers and participating parties, whose efforts guaranteed this monumental success.
Commenting on training programs offered by the institute in the banking and financial sectors, Al Jasmi disclosed that 20 training events were organized in 2016, with 396 trainees in the banking domain, and 127 in insurance. Al Jasmi also noted that the lineup for 2017 is rich in training programs as well.
The National Career Exhibition was originally established to bridge any gap and overcome any obstacles that hinder communication between fresh university graduates and governmental and private institutions. It also facilitates employment, training and skill development opportunities for the UAE youth and provides guidance and counseling to help the youth choose the career the suits the needs of both the society and the labor market.
Coinciding with the 12th International Education Show, the National Career Exhibition 2017 will welcome visitors from 10:00am – 8:00pm on the 15th and 16th of February, the Exhibition will only receive visitors from 4:00 – 9:00pm on its final day, with special visiting hours dedicated on this day for ladies from 10:00am – 2:00am.
