The UAE Space Agency has discussed ways of bilateral co-operation and mutual collaboration with a delegation from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg at the Agency’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The delegation of Luxembourg was led by Etienne Schneider, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Economy, Minister of Internal Security, Minister of Defence in the presence of Nicole Bintner, Ambassador for Luxembourg to the UAE.
Dr. Khalifa Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Chairman of the UAE Space Agency, on the occasion said the meeting came in the context of UAE Space Agency’s collaboration with a number of international and foreign agencies aimed at exchanging information and knowledge.
Luxembourg is home to the Society of European Satellites, the largest satellite operator in the world. The society controls 50 geostationary communications satellites, which run thousands of channels around the world. These include over 200 channels in the Middle East region.
Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Ahbabi, director general of the UAE Space Agency, said that both sides discussed means of exchanging knowledge and engage in collective international efforts, focusing on prospects of mutual co-operation between the two countries within the space sector.
