Dubai will host a conference on integrating and teaching students with special needs at schools on 7th and 8th March.
The two-day educational meeting is being organised by Ishara Consultants, a Dubai-based public relations, public affairs and strategic consulting firm, under the patronage of Al Maktoum Charity Foundation.
Class teachers, integration officials, co-ordinators, and supervisors and administrators at rehabilitation centres for people with special learning needs, will take part in the conference, alongside student learning support groups and learning specialists, who will analyse the local, regional and global challenges of integration.
Officials from the Ministry of Education will also participate in the conference.
Experts at the conference will debate practices, strategies and the latest trends in methods of teaching and integrating students with special needs into schools, said Maalainine Salama, Managing Director at Ishara Consultants. It will also include discussion on challenges faced by curricula planners.
''Development of a customised learning plan for an individual student with special needs will also come under discussion,'' he added.
''The conference aims to increase awareness about the importance of integration in delivering educational reforms and reducing the gap between theory and practice in integration,'' he explained.
