Dubai is now able to bring in the world’s best schools to the city based not only on academic success, but by "the ethos of how they educate children", the Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, KHDA, has said.
Speaking about the opening of the North London Collegiate School Dubai, Dr. Abdulla Al Karam said, "When we look at a school it is not only the academic results it achieves but the ethos of how they educate."
"I went to North London Collegiate School and saw for myself they are not just driven by academic results, it is very much about everything the students experience. In Dubai we are now able to look at these schools and make sure that when they come here those same principles are applied. It is a very strong time for Dubai education and the new standards that are being set each year."
North London Collegiate School has a history dating back to 1850 and is recognised as the most successful school ever in England. It will open in Dubai in September 2017, with the principal Daniel Lewis currently meeting with prospective parents and children.
He said, "On a personal level, my time in Dubai so far has shown me what a truly multi-cultural and fascinating place it really is. There is a very exciting challenge ahead for us as we look to bring here the academic standards and also integrate with Dubai life."
North London Collegiate School Dubai is located at Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum City, in close proximity to the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai.
