In 1912 the scientist Alexis Carrel carried out an experiment on cell growth methods and their survival outside of the organism's body. As he developed part of a bird embryo heart under sterile, warm and clean conditions, he found that the living cells can feed and breath divide and double. The part of the heart started growing larger. Then the size became larger than the normal so Carrel cut it into two parts and put the new part in a new water solution. Alexis Carrel monitored its growth day after day, and named it the "everlasting Carrel tissue". His calculations found that if he left the part of the bird heart to grow throughout the year its size could hypothetically reach size of the sun in the correct conditions. At that time Carrel and other scientists were surprised by the excessive growth of the cells, as many of them believed tissue without a mind can't grow outside the body. This experiment showed the opposite to be true as it was later discovered that the cells carry DNA which enables it to continue its life cycle when separated from its body. Cells growing inside the body are subject to a system of pulses sent from the mind which determines its development, but when the mind is absent it will continue to grow and reproduce until we lose the ability to control it. I remember what I heard on the "al-Ashera Mashan" (ten o'clock) TV programme and Dr Manal Omar's video which spread rapidly on the social networks over the last week. The video analyses the mentality of Egyptians perfectly. The doctor said angrily: "I will not return back from Tahrir square unless I see a real change in Egypt. Fear is a tiny nucleus in the human mind but when invasion occurs, fear will return back and die. If you respect science you will understand well what I am saying." Let's first differentiate between what fear is doing and what invasion is doing. Let's imagine that someone binds your wrists but you can't resist them and you feel pain and your cries make your torturer excited so he increase the pressure. Competition continues between violence and pain until you start screaming so loudly that the world vibrates around you. At this point you can break the fear barrier, fear of expressing your pain. So violence against you will have no meaning. The destruction of fear will lead to a balancing of power which will make you equal to your enemy so he will be in a trouble, driving him mad to regain control over you in any way. Your enemy will be busy with tricks and techniques which have no meaning and you will be busy discovering other positive areas supporting your newborn welcoming energy. Calmness doesn't mean death and its fortune doesn’t mean dying. It’s a comprehensive life cycle between endless ups and downs with a continuous spreading, growth and renovation as in "Carrel Tissue". If rulers were interested in science they were realized this fact. If they had time to observe nature, (instead of being busy with power) they would understand this and support it. If they were smart, they would use their knowledge to unify power instead of dismantling it. If they had an insight, they would realize that the revolution will never be aborted through intended killing, corrupted media, absence of awareness or corrupting consciences because the idea of ??revolution is purified and renewing itself. The infectious freedom which was mixed with blood will continue spreading. Sometimes quietly, other times angrily. But in all cases it will not submit to suppression. It will remain immortal till Allah stops its breath, this was what Carrel reached in his research. Our body is the only thing which can die while cells can continue their life. --- The views expressed by the author do not necessarily represent or reflect the editorial policy of Arabstoday.
