Thousands of Iraqis gathered Friday in Baghdad and southern cities calling on the government to carry out reforms announced by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
They lashed out at the government for having no clear mechanism to implement the announced plans.
For the eighth week in a row, hundreds gathered in Tahrir area, in central Baghdad, urging the cabinet to bring corrupt officials to justice and put a reform mechanism as soon as possible.
The protesters raised banners asserting that their rallies are peaceful.
They called for building a "civil state " and social justice by cleaning the state's institutions from corrupt officials
