Iraqi troops continued to further advance into neighborhoods in eastern Mosul on Saturday.
The troops clashed with Daesh militants in al Zahraa and al Tahrir neighborhoods.
Daesh have been incurred heavy losses since the operation started on Friday, said Sami al Aradi, the commander of the anti-terror troops.
Daesh militants are using different types of weapons and hand grenades to hinder the advancement of the troops, Aradi said.
The Iraqi troops have so far controlled the neighborhoods of al Karama, al Samah, al Entsar, al Quds, Saddam, Karkokly, Aden and al Zahabi in eastern Mosul.
