Joint Iraqi forces on Wednesday liberated three villages in Mosul, capital of Nineveh governorate, southern Iraq.
With the participation of rapid response forces and federal police and popular mobilization forces, the joint forces liberated regions covering 352 square kilometers in southern Mosul from the terrorist Daesh group and also retook 20 villages during the past two days.
On Monday, Iraqi prime minister and commander in chief of the armed forces, announced the start of the operation aiming to retake Nineveh with its capital Mosul, the second largest city, from Daesh.
