Iraq forces on Saturday morning raided Hammam al Alil district in southern Mosul to liberate it from Daesh terrorists.
Iraqi federal police, backed by the army, stormed the district through three axes and are still pushing deep into the Daesh-held city, said an Iraqi army commander.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi launched on October 17 a large-scale military operation to liberate Daesh-held Mosul, the second largest city in Iraq.
