Iraqi Army 9th Armored Division on Monday controlled "Nayfah" village in Hamdaniya neighborhood in Nineveh governorate, inflicting damage on Daesh militants.
In statements on Monday, Commander of Nineveh operation Abdel Amir Rashid said the Iraqi forces liberated the village and Namroud hills and chased out Daesh militants till the northern coasts of Great Zab River in southeastern Mosul.
The operation comes in preparation for controlling Namroud neighborhood and freeing it from the grip of Daesh militants.
