The joint Iraqi troops clashed Sunday with the gunmen of Daesh terrorist group in Makhmour area in southeastern Mosul and managed to liberate Jubier village from the control of the extremist organization.
Daesh launched an attack with booby-trapped cars which were dismantled by the Iraqi forces. Clashes erupted between the two sides in el Nasr village at Makhmour area.
The Iraqi troops distributed leaflets in Kuier area warning the Iraqis from approaching the posts of Daesh which will be targeted by the Iraqi jets.
Meanwhile, Nineveh Operations Commander Major General Najm al Jubbouri said the Iraqi forces freed Jubier village in a military operation launched Sunday morning.
He further underlined that the troops liberated the village from the control of Daesh and killed dozens of extremists, adding that the military operation was carried out by the support of the Iraqi armed forces and US-led international coalition.
