The death toll from Hilla truck bomb hit 19 people, while 73 others were injured, the Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman said Sunday 

In statements, Saad Maan said that an explosive-laden fuel tanker was detonated at a police checkpoint on the way into the city of Hilla, south of Baghdad.

Seven security personnel were among those killed, he added.

Hilla is the capital of the Babylon province.
