Two Iraqis were killed and eight others injured in a suicide bombing that targeted worshippers at Husiniya Shiite mosque in southwestern Baghdad.
In press statements on Friday, Saad Maan, the Spokesman of Baghdad Operations Command, said security forces managed to kill a suicide bomber before blowing himself up, but another suicide bomber managed to blew himself in Husiniya in southwestern Baghdad.
The two suicide bombers were wearing explosive belts.
Earlier in the day, an Iraqi civilian was killed and seven others were injured when an explosive charge went off near an open-air marketplace in Abu Ghraib district, some 20 km west of Baghdad.
Baghdad became a scene of recurrent blasts. Daesh is behind these attacks which are meant to destabilize security in the Iraqi capital.
The UN mission in Iraq considered the 7-million-population city as recording the highest toll of violence and terror attacks in comparison with other Iraqi governorates.
