Tripoli - MENA
Nine soldiers and four civilians, including a photojournalist, were wounded in clashes late Friday between the army and militias in the northern coastal city of Tripoli.
The clashes initially erupted in the city's markets area and have reportedly renewed on Saturday.
Ever since the war in neighboring Syria broke out in 2011, Tripoli has been the scene of regular fighting between Sunni militants and members of Lebanon's Alawite minority.
Friday's clashes were the first since the outbreak of Syria's war to erupt in the markets area, which is traditionally a tourist site.
