Tripoli - Arab Today
At least 10 persons were killed and more than 12 injured in an armed attack on al Kafra city in Libya.
Gunmen attacked the city using more than 20 machine guns, said Mohamed Khalil, the official spokesman for al Kafra police HQ, Monday.
Kafra residents countered the attack, Khalil said, adding that they burned the machine guns of the assailants.
He said that the humanitarian situation in the city is deteriorating after the closure of the airport and due to the siege imposed on roads leading to Kafra since July.
A military source said about 30 of the gunmen were killed in the face-off.
