Thousands of protestors led by leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) parties continue their rally for the fourth consecutive day
Led by PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT Chief Tahirul Qadri the protestors are pressing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down to make way for a new government, a new system, Pakistan daily Dawn said.
Khan and Qadri demand Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) led government should go for alleged rigging of the elections in 2013.
Qadri has urged his supporters to continue protesting until they bring a “peaceful revolution”.
Khan’s convoy of protesters was pelted with stones on the way, in the city of Gujranwala, a BBC report said. Party officials said Khan’s vehicle was also shot at but he was not hurt.
A senior leader from PML-N party said the government was ready to investigate allegations of election fraud. However, he said Sharif would not be removed through a protest rally. (QNA)
