The death toll of a suicide attack that hit the compound of militant commander Mullah Nabi Hanafi in Orakzai tribal Agency of northern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan on the wee hours of Thursday has risen to 13 people and over ten others were wounded, said officials. An Official of Political Administration of Orakzai Agent said in remarks that the suicide rammed his explosive packed vehicle into the compound of a local militant commander Nabi Hanfai around 1 pm last night killing thirteen people and injuring ten others. The Khasadar Force rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the nearby hospital. Deputy Superintendent of Police Tall Tehsil Shaukat Ali Shah said that the militant compound was completely destroyed in the explosion. The death toll is feared to rise as many of the injured people are in critical condition. Mullah Hanafi was associated with the Tehrik-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the past but later after developing differences formed his own militant faction to fight against the TTP, said media reports. At first the attackers broke into the headquarters and opened fire after which the suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the headquarters. Earlier, the militants killed a provincial lawmaker of Pakistan Tehreek I Insaf (PTI) of Hangu and an accused member of the group of Mullah Hanafi was arrested.
