At least fifteen militants were killed on Friday in fresh air strikes in the northwestern Khyber tribal region of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said military.
A brief statement by media wing of Pakistan military said that Three militant hideouts were also destroyed in the strikes.
Khyber is one of Pakistanآ’s seven semi-autonomous regions governed by tribal laws and lies near the Afghan border.
The latest strikes are part of the ongoing military operation آ‘Zarb e Azbآ’ launched on June 15th in North Waziristan tribal region against the local and foreign militants present in the area. The military operation has displaced around one million people from the area and killed over 1,200 suspected militants so far.
