At least 3,105 people lost their lives in 2012 during violent incidents in Karachi, a Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) report said. Among those killed were 2,808 men, 176 women, 121 children, 356 political workers and 133 policemen, it said. The HRCP added that 104 people were killed on sectarian grounds, 391 were killed after being kidnapped whereas 63 bodies were recovered in 12 months. According to the report, 2,382 people were killed last year in Karachi.
