South Korean domestic construction orders surged 24.7 percent on-year to 6.99 trillion won (US$6.64 billion) in February, an industry-wide report showed Monday. The double-digit increase, up from 5.61 trillion won worth of orders secured a year earlier, follows strong numbers tallied in recent months and can be seen as a sign that local construction market may be improving after last year's dismal showing, the Construction Association of Korea (CAK) said.
