Domestic orders won by South Korean construction companies shot up 74.7 percent in August from a year earlier as major local firms placed massive orders for facility expansions, a report said Tuesday. According to the report by the Construction Association of Korea (CAK), local builders clinched a combined 8.54 trillion won (US$7.34 billion) worth of new orders in August.
