Egypt's exports

Egypt's exports to the UK hit £199 million in the first quarter of 2015, the same figure of the same period last year.

Egypt's imports, meanwhile, from the UK were down by 7.5% recording £223 million in the described period against £241 million in the same period of 2014, according to official statistics.

Egypt ranked the UK's sixth largest exporting country in the Middle East and North Africa, coming after Qatar (£727 million), Algeria (£632 million), the UAE (£516 million), Saudi Arabia (£442 million) and Israel (£306 million).

It came fifth in terms of imports after the UAE (£1.776 billion), Saudi Arabia (£950 million), Qatar (£852 million) and Israel (£237 million).
