Cairo - MENA
Undersecretary of the Trade and Industry Ministry Said Abudllah underlined that the decision of Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil to register qualified foreign factories does not contradict Egypt's commitments towards the World Trade Organization (WTO) or any agreements such as the Egyptian-European Partnership Agreement or the COMESA Agreement.
In statements on Saturday, Abdullah said that the European Union (EU) urge the factories of the chemical industries to register in a certificate to make sure that their products meet the European standards of health and safety.
The official further said that the minister made decisions to facilitate registering the factories in Egypt.
He reiterated that the registering of factories will protect the foreign products from being imitated and will stop the unfair competition between the good Egyptian products with the bad cheap commodities.
