Bahrain Industrial Association (BIA) has joined hands with Gulf Industry Fair to promote the needs of the industrial sector in the diversification of Bahrain’s economy.
Gulf Industry Fair (GIF) takes place from Feb. 7-9, 2017 under the patronage of Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain.
“The Bahrain Industrial Association aims not just to highlight the challenges facing industrialists; but more importantly to propose solutions to these challenges,” said Darwish Al-Mannai, Chairman of BIA.
“We aim to co-ordinate with authorities on legislation and policies related to the sector by bringing to their attention the ramifications of these to the growth of the industrial sector. It is important that Bahrain’s industry is nurtured to grow which means protecting industrialists and investors from foreign competition and discouraging import and sale of foreign-made goods at prices substantially below domestic prices,” added Al-Mannai.
“As the organizers of the Northern Gulf’s only industrial expo, we are excited to see the development of BIA. The association will play an important part in the industrial development of Bahrain’s economy and we have extended our sincere support to assist the goals of BIA outside the activities of the Gulf Industry Fair,” said Jubran Abdulrahman, Managing Director of Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions, organizers of the show.
Gulf Industry Fair will host a round-table forum for industrialists from across the GCC to debate and propose action points encouraging the diversification of the GCC economies away from hydro-carbon dependency.
Gulf Industry Fair 2017 is sponsored by the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) in association with NOGA and Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA). Supporting organizations for GIF 2017 include AHK Saudi Arabia, the German Saudi Arabian Liaison for Economic Affairs and the Saudi British Economic Offset Programme.
