Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today honoured the winners of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) Awards at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, His Highness  Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai were present at the 15th edition of the government excellence awards. Shaikh Hamdan delivered the opening speech praising the winners of the DGEP for their distinguished and excellent achievements at their jobs in the various Dubai Government departments following a rendition of the national anthem. Shaikh Hamdan ascribed Dubai’s outstanding position to the keen vision of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his dedicated team who translated this vision to reality. Sheikh Mohammed distributed awards and certificates among winning departments and institutions. Present on the stage were Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed and Abdullah Al Shebani, Secretary General of Dubai’s Executive Council. Those honoured include distinguished new employee, distinguished female employee, category of distinguished employee in specialised job, distinguished technical and engineering employee, distinguished administrative and Financial employee, distinguished government employee, distinguished technical project, distinguished field initiative, distinguished team performance, distinguished joint government project category, distinguished eGovernment category, best customer satisfaction and best in innovative employees besides unknown soldier and other categories. Sheikh Mohammed shook hands with the winners and congratulated them for their excellence and said, ‘I consider honouring them as if we have honoured our beloved UAE.’ At the end of the ceremony Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed presented ‘excellence memorial shield’ to Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid as a gratitude for patronizing the march of excellence and innovation at the levels of government departments and private sector institutions.
