Victor Nwaozichi Chibundu, former ambassador to China, unveiled his new book \"40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relationship between Nigeria and China\" on Friday in the capital of Lagos. According to Chibundu, the book, reviewing the 40-year development of bilateral trade and cultural exchanges, aims to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Nigeria and China. \"Why I wrote the book was that I wanted to document the status of the relationship of the two countries. How it began, the stages we have gone through until today,\" said Chibundu, 81, who headed the Nigerian embassy to China from 1981 to 1983. \"I wanted to document it for posterity, for the future and for record purposes,\" he said. Chibundu, founder and chairman of the Nigeria-China Friendship Association, spoke highly of China\'s contribution to development of Nigeria. \"I\'m so happy that in my own lifetime, the number of Nigerian people who go to China has increased tremendously and they are now aware that they can do business in China even better than they can do business in Europe or in America,\" he said. The former ambassador said bilateral cooperation had given rise to a win-win scenario. He hoped China could continue to shore up support and investment in Nigeria\'s infrastructure and market.
