Diane Kruger and Elizabeth Banks have joined the 72nd Venice International Film Festival Jury.
The 39-year-old German actress and 41-year-old American actress and director will serve alongside French author Emmanuel Carrere, Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski, Italian director Frencesco Munzi, Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien and British director Lynne Ramsay.
Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron, known for Y Tu Mama Tambien and Gravity, will act as president of the jury. Munzi competed in last year's festival with Anime nere, while Hou won the event's prestigious Golden Lion award for A City of Sadness in 1989.
Kruger made her Hollywood film debut as Helen in Troy, and went on to star as Bridget von Hammersmark in the Quentin Tarantino movie Inglourious Basterds. She recently portrayed Sonya Cross on FX series The Bridge, and is scheduled for Fathers and Daughters with Amanda Seyfried.
Banks is known for playing Betty Brant in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games films and Gail Abernathy-McKadden in Pitch Perfect. The actress made her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2 in May, which earned $282 million at the box office.
