The Tripitaka Koreana Buddhist cultural festival is expected to draw a total of 1.6 million spectators by this weekend, the event organizer said Sunday. This year's festival commemorating the "Tripitaka Koreana," or "Palmandaejanggyeong," woodblocks kicked off on Sept. 30 for a 45-day run in the area near Haeinsa, or Haein Buddhist Temple, in Hapcheon, 354 kilometers south of Seoul.
