Children of all ages have become dinosaurs’ biggest fans at this year’s Aramco summer cultural festival. They could not only get information about the big creatures, but ride them as well. This year’s festival is spread over an area of 100,000 square meters and children are flocking from far and wide to experience “Jurassic Park”. Ziyad Hijazi, supervisor of the science tent, said that “Jurassic Park” offers a full-size simulation of the life of dinosaurs. The display includes sound effects, lighting, natural habitat, volcanoes, plant and animal life, reproductive and growth cycles, and how they protected themselves from enemies. All these facets come together to tell their life history. “Children of all ages are keen to have the experience of a lifetime. This exhibition is very popular among children from five to 18 years, as we are giving them the knowledge they are looking for about dinosaurs. We are also showing films and documentaries that include scientific theories on the life of these creatures and their discovery through fossils and skeletons. These dinosaurs were built according to accurate fossils as discovered by explorers to give a real picture of these creatures,” Hijazi said. “Jurassic Park” also has a fun dinosaur ride for four to 10-year-old children. “I love dinosaurs. I learned about them in my book. I came here with my younger brother, who is also very interested in dinosaurs, and we were very excited to take a ride on them. It was wonderful. I am so excited and happy that I came here, I will learn more about them,” said Abdullah Younous, a five-year-old boy. Another visitor, Amina Faisal, said she enjoyed “Jurassic Park” a lot as she got a chance to learn more about dino’s, to see and feel them in real life as they were on the earth long before the human race, “I also learned about their habitat and life-cycle which makes me more interested in studying fossils and skeletons. I wish to become an archeologist when I grow up,” “My children enjoyed the exhibition. I am happy that I brought them here. “Jurassic Park” is becoming popular with all the children,” said Shahida Parveen, mother of two.
