Rain meant no play was possible on the opening morning of the first Test between England and Sri Lanka at Sophia Gardens here on Thursday. The umpires opted to take lunch an hour early at 12pm (1100GMT) with the aim of getting the match underway in the afternoon session. This is the first of a three-match series.
