Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris was suspended on Thursday for two NBA games for what the club called conduct detrimental to the team.
The punishment was reportedly imposed for Morris tossing a towel at coach Jeff Hornacek during Wednesday's 104-96 home loss to Denver.
Morris has been unhappy with the Suns since they traded his twin brother Marcus to the Detroit Pistons before the season and dropped him from the starting lineup recently.
Morris played only 12 minutes against the Nuggets and when he was removed in the fourth quarter, Morris hurled a towel at his coach to express his displeasure.
"He's mad about not playing," Hornacek said. "I look at the stat sheet. He's a minus-13 in 12 minutes. So there, I took him out.
"He thinks he's better than that. Show me."
Morris will miss games Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers and Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
