Sergei Artyukhin, a former European Greco-Roman wrestling champion, had died at the age of 35, the Russian Wrestling Federation said Thursday. A spokesman for the federation said he suffered a heart attack Wednesday following a hockey training session, RIA Novosti reported. Artyukhin was part of the Russian team that won the 2001 World Cup competition in Greco-Roman wrestling. He took the gold at the 2005 European wrestling championships and competed at the 2008 Olympics. Artyukhin later competed for Belarus before retiring in 2009. He played hockey recreationally. His brother, Evgeny Artyukhin, is a former player for the National Hockey League.
