The country\'s football authorities did not announce the name of the person who will be taking charge of the Palancas Negras.The Angola Football Federation (Faf) has announced the sacking of coach Lito Vidigal in a statement.The decision comes after a poor showing at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, where the Palancas Negras were unable to progress past the group stages and into the knockout rounds of the competition.\"We announce the friendly and mutually agreed, termination of the contract with national coach Lito Vidigal,\" the Faf revealed in a statement.\"Unfortunately the results and the performance of Palancas Negras at the 2012 African Nations Cup created an atmosphere which does not allow the coach\'s continuity.\"The Angolan football authorities did not mention a replacement who would be taking charge of the national team, but it is likely that a decision will soon be made with regards to a head coach, as the country will soon be focusing on qualification for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.Vidigal was a former Angolan international, representing the country at the 1998 Afcon, and was in charge of the side when they qualified for the continental competition last year.
