Kuwait's Al-Qurain handball team defeated its fellow Kuwait 35-30 in the third place playoff of the 17th Asian Club League in the Qatari capital Monday.
During the match, Al-Qurain players used an old-school method in following and blocking movements of Kuwait players, particularly Mohammad Al-Gharabally who was the tournament's top scorer.
"It's a great feeling to be the tournament's top goalscorer, but I wished we were qualified to the final match," Al-Gharabally said in a press statement, adding that "Al-Qurain played very well as they trained harder than us, and I congratulate them for the win." Meanwhile, Qatar's Al-Jaish won the tournament for the second consecutive time by beating its fellow Lekhwiya 33-30 in the final match at Ali bin Hamad Al-Atiya Arena in Al-Sadd.
