Chad White put South Dakota State in front with 1:27 left in overtime Tuesday and the Jackrabbits earned their first NCAA bid by downing Western Illinois 52-50. South Dakota State overcame a 10-point first-half deficit to capture the Summit Conference Tournament championship. Griffin Callahan made two free throws for South Dakota State with 15 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. White\'s 3-pointer produced the final points of the game and the Jackrabbits survived down the stretch. Western Illinois let the shot clock run out on its next-to-last possession and Tommie Tyler missed a layup with 4 seconds to go for the Leathernecks. Terrell Parks grabbed the offensive rebound for Western Illinois, but had it stolen away by Brayden Carlson just before the buzzer. Nate Wolters scored 14 points to lead South Dakota State (27-7), which finished second to Oral Roberts in the regular-season conference race. Western Illinois defeated Oral Roberts by a point in the semifinals.
