With 2011 now drawing to an end, the Slovakian defender is hoping that the Reds can pick up maximum points from their last three games of the calendar year, starting with Wednesday night\'s clash. Skrtel spoke to the club’s official website: \"The Christmas period is very important for every single team and our aim is to get back maximum points from every game we play.\"You know you are always in for a difficult game when you play away against a team like Wigan, Stoke or Bolton, because they have a similar style of playing. \"We will have to fight hard to get the victory and they got a good point on Saturday when they drew with Chelsea.\"I think we are due some good fortune away at Wigan. We have to break this barrier of not winning there for three years and hopefully this could be a good time to do it.\"I don\'t know why results have been better away from home but our aim always is to try and win every game.\"I think we have played really well overall at Anfield but sometimes haven\'t got the results our performances have deserved.\"We are still creating a lot of chances and we hope to score more goals in the future.\"Liverpool’s form on the road has been good this season, taking maximum points from five of their away games in the league, something which Skrtel claims is inspired by Liverpool\'s travelling fans, who he hopes will be in full voice against Wigan.\"It does feel like a home game playing at Wigan because it\'s not far to travel and we always have a large number of supporters with us,” he said.\"Our fans are always with us and hopefully we can reward them with a victory and another good performance.\"
