Siena defeated Palermo 3-0 on penalties after a dramatic 4-4 draw in their Coppa Italia last-16 match tonight. The visitors won on spot-kicks after Palermo\'s Josip Ilicic had scored a hat-trick, including two penalties, to help his side come from behind three times to force the game into extra-time. Reginaldo had put Siena in front in the 21st minute and Pablo Andres Gonzalez restored their lead five minutes before the break after Ilicic\'s first equaliser from the spot. The Slovenian made it 2-2 in the first minute of the second half only for Reginaldo to put Siena back in front in the 59th minute. Ilicic scored his second penalty to complete his hat-trick and knot the score at 3-3 in the 90th minute before Nicolas Bertolo put Palermo ahead for the first time in the match in the 98th minute. However, Angelo made it 4-4 two minutes later and Siena triumphed easily on penalties.
