Schalke moved up to fourth in the Bundesliga thanks to a 3-1 win over Augsburg which leaves the Bavarians rooted at the bottom of the table. Klaas Jan Huntelaar fired the hosts in front in the 16th minute, but Sascha Molders levelled straight after the break. Christian Fuchs restored Schalke\'s advantage soon after before Raul wrapped things up late on. Schalke started with a three-man attack with Huntelaar, Raul and Teemu Pukki leading the line, and two of the trio combined to put them ahead in the 16th minute. Pukki started the move and almost finished it too, but Huntelaar made sure with a neat back-heel from close range. Huntelaar was not so accurate in the 26th minute when he shot into the side-netting from Fuchs\' cross. Schalke were dominant and Lewis Holtby had the last chance of the second half, although he placed his shot wide from the edge of the penalty area. But Augsburg re-emerged for the second half with a different attitude and they were rewarded immediately. Molders picked up a shot from Daniel Brinkmann which was hit badly and going wide, and he fired past Lars Unnerstall into the bottom corner. Augsburg goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif made two good saves to deny Holtby and Christoph Moritz, but he did not look as good when faced with Fuchs\' shot from 25 yards, which filtered underneath his left arm and into the back of the net. It was a costly blunder from the keeper and his whole team lost belief as a result. Raul sealed the win in the 84th minute when he headed in a corner, with the ball crossing the line before Paul Verhaegh could clear it.
