Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos will have tests on a calf injury on Monday to see if he will be fit for Spain's UEFA EURO 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg next week.
The 28-year-old was substituted at half-time during Madrid's 5-0 thrashing of Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
"Some problems but looking forward to be with my national team," Ramos wrote on his official Twitter account.
However, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is less convinced Ramos will have recovered in time to join up with the European champions. "Sergio had a problem in his right calf," said the Italian.
"He wasn't comfortable. Tomorrow he will have tests and we will evaluate it with the national team."
Ramos was one of just three central defenders named in Vicente del Bosque's 23-man squad along with Barcelona's Gerard Pique and Napoli's Raul Albiol.
Spain lead Group C of qualification for the finals in France in two years' time after a 5-1 victory over Macedonia in their opening game.
