Paraguay earned a deserved 2-1 win over Guatemala in their international friendly in Asuncion. Edgar Benitez set the hosts on their way in the 33rd minute and also hit the woodwork three times, before Ariel Bogado made the game safe from the penalty spot on 71 minutes following a foul on midfielder Fidencio Oviedo. Carlos Ruiz pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 82nd minute, but Paraguay held on for victory.
